Programme details
INTERPHEX Week is Japan's largest exhibition for pharma and bio technologies. The show covers pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D technologies as well as digital and lab technologies. Conferences/panel discussions will be co-held on the pharma and bio industry. This contributes to the creation of groundbreaking new drugs, the establishment of safer pharmaceutical manufacturing, and the realisation of a well-being society worldwide.

【Reflection】
The 27th Interphex Week Tokyo was held over three days from Wednesday, July 9 to Friday, July 11, 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight. As Japan's largest specialized technical exhibition for pharmaceutical and cosmetic research and manufacturing, 900 companies exhibited the industry's cutting-edge technologies and products, including manufacturing equipment, inspection devices, packaging machinery, raw materials, biopharmaceuticals, research support, and DX solutions. Throughout the event, keynote and special lectures by industry key figures were held daily, covering themes such as drug discovery research, manufacturing DX, GMP compliance, and biopharmaceuticals. A total of 320 presentations were held, covering everything from on-site operations to organizational reform, including factory smartization, generative AI utilization, AI-driven drug discovery, and digital talent development. Numerous hints for advancing DX were introduced. Furthermore, concurrent events such as the Cosmetics Research & Production Forum, Academic Forum, and Advanced Cancer Research Forum provided concrete solutions to challenges facing the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, making this an event where important hints for future business development could be gained.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
The next Interphex Week Tokyo is scheduled to be held over three days from Wednesday, May 20 to Friday, May 22, 2026, at Makuhari Messe.
This exhibition is Japan's largest specialized trade show, serving as a “meeting place for creating the future of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and regenerative medicine,” where the latest technologies and products from 25 countries and regions worldwide converge. The next edition will again feature a diverse range of exhibits transcending industry boundaries, including manufacturing and inspection equipment, packaging technology, active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, biopharmaceuticals, research support, and DX solutions.
Furthermore, the exhibition layout will be enhanced to allow visitors to “see, touch, and experience” products and technologies, aiming to create a space where they can deepen their understanding of actual implementation scenarios. Seminars will cover forward-looking themes such as AI-driven drug discovery, smart factories, and the latest trends in regenerative medicine, sharing practical insights.
Interphex Week will continue to evolve as a platform contributing to industry development and innovation creation.

After joining the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2005, he served as a specialist officer in the Adverse Drug Reaction Information Section of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, a review coordination officer in the Review Management Division of the same agency, director of public relations and investigator in the Medical Information Utilization Department of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency, and assistant manager in the Monitoring and Guidance Division of the Pharmaceuticals and Health Department, among other positions. He has held his current position since June 2022.
