Programme details
The lecture will cover international trends in well-being, including an introduction to Japan's initiatives and examples, as well as discussing the challenges and efforts towards the well-being of future generations in relation to the new indicators of "Well-being" post-SDGs. A guest speaker will be invited to provide insights. Furthermore, a panel discussion will be conducted focusing on the realization of a well-being future society based on the theme of the Osaka-Kansai Expo and the concept of Sumitomo Pavilion, exploring how various Sumitomo Group companies will contribute to the well-being of future generations.

Researcher in preventive medicine, Ph.D. (Medicine)Born in Hiroshima, Japan in 1981. D. from Jichi Medical University after graduating from the Department of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo, and the Harvard School of Public Health. D. in Medicine from Jichi Medical University.
He is working on a long-term vision that spans the generations of clouds and grandchildren (eight generations later) under the theme of “What it means for people and the Earth to live in harmony.
His recent books include “Once upon a time there was wellbeing: The shape of happiness as read from Japanese culture” (KADOKAWA), “Full Life” (NewsPicks Publishing), and “The power to keep thinking” (Chikuma Shinsho).
