Programme details
Never in human history have we had so many people reach old age while also seeing a steady decline in birth rates. Coupled with that, the population over 60 is growing faster than any other age group, and it is estimated that by 2050, 20% of the world’s population will be over 60. Although people are living longer, we are seeing a rise in chronic conditions that affect health and well-being. Our panel discussions below will focus on the future of aging and brain health and the roles we can each play to create an ecosystem in which we can all thrive.
Panel 1: Will focus on the future of aging and how a system-level approach can accelerate technologies to achieve better health and well-being for older adults and those with dementia.
Panel 2: Will provide an overview of Defy Dementia, our world-renowned podcast and dementia prevention program, originally funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, which aims to educate the general public on dementia prevention and provide actionable tips on how to decrease dementia risk and improve health and wellbeing.
