【Reflection】
This session, hosted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Pavilion, was held under the theme “The Future of Sustainable Smart Mobility.” International experts from both the public and private sectors participated, engaging in multifaceted discussions on the current status and future prospects of mobility, as well as approaches to sustainable and inclusive infrastructure development. Speakers from the UAE, Japan, and other countries introduced the latest examples of smart city initiatives, green infrastructure, and traffic optimisation through AI and data utilisation in their respective regions, providing valuable insights for all attendees.

Through this session, it was reaffirmed that promoting smart mobility requires not only the adoption of technology but also designs that consider social challenges and cultural contexts, alongside strong collaboration among citizens, governments, and businesses. The advanced examples from the UAE served as an inspiration to many attendees and offered numerous insights that could contribute to improving urban transportation in Japan and other countries.

Although the event was limited in time, it gathered diverse experts and participants, facilitating fruitful discussions that greatly enhanced understanding and interest in the future of smart mobility.

【Post EXPO Initiatives】
The insights and networks gained through this session are expected to serve as a foundation for future international cooperation within the UAE’s mobility strategy. The participating organisations will build on the discussions held, further advancing the promotion of smart mobility implementation in urban transport, optimisation of infrastructure through AI and data analytics, and policy development aimed at enhancing residents’ mobility experiences. Notably, comparisons with practical cases and strategies from other countries, including Japan, have helped clarify the specific vision of a sustainable urban transport model that the UAE aims to achieve.

Following the Expo, active information exchange continues among the speakers, with ongoing collaboration being explored through mutual visits, researcher exchanges, and sharing of best practices. The UAE Pavilion intends to nurture the international network expanded through the Expo, linking it to future projects and policy formulation. Additionally, at upcoming international forums and exhibitions, the insights gained from this session will be utilised to foster dialogue with a broader range of stakeholders. Through these efforts, the UAE aims to enhance its international presence in the mobility sector.
