Programme details
The clean transition is a necessary change required for the future on a global scale. Currently, fossil fuels are the largest contributor to global climate change. About 75 % of world’s greenhouse gas emissions are created by energy production. The ultimate goal is to decarbonize production value chains from energy production until end products including logistics.
Hydrogen and batteries play a key role in reducing carbon emissions in industries such as transportation, energy and processing industries The clean transition poses major challenges for these sectors, but also offers huge opportunities for innovation and the development of sustainable, globally expanding businesses. For this to happen, collaboration on an international level is essential.
A significant majority, nearly 90%, of Finnish people say nature to be of great importance. Therefore, it should not come as a surprise that Finland is a committed forerunner in the clean transition, with a strong backing from its government, infrastructure, and industry. The Finnish Climate Change Act, which was implemented in 2022, aims the country to become carbon neutral by 2035.
