Filmmaker KAWASE Naomi will give a talk event.
She will be joined by a female guest with whom she shares a strong connection, engaging in a two-person dialogue-style discussion.
In addition to her career as a film director, KAWSE Naomi has been active across various genres, including directing commercials and writing essays. As a leading female director who continues to work at the forefront of the industry, she will explore the theme of "Promotion of women’s participation," sharing their thoughts and experiences alongside her guest from a unique perspective.

Ruth Yoshie Linton

KINGYO FILMS

Ruth Yoshie Linton is an independent film producer, originally from Japan. Her recent films include feature length documentary Dearest Viet, Tahmineh Bahram’s Hunchback, Arsalan Amiri’s Zalava, Ida Panahandeh’s The Nikaidos’ Fall, and Naomi Kawase’s Vision. Ruth has also served as a moderator, board member and selection committee member at Nara International Film Festival in Japan for more than a decade.

Naomi Kawase

Based in Nara, where she was born and raised, she continues to make films.
She has won numerous awards at film festivals around the world,
including the Cannes International Film Festival.
Her representative works include
"Suzaku", "The Mourning Forest", "Sweet Bean", and "True Mothers".
in 2010 she launched the "Nara International Film Festival"
in her hometown of Nara, and has also focused on fostering the next generation.
In 2021, she was appointed as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador
and received the Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France.

Himawari Theatre Group Inc.

With a uniquely captivating presence, she has earned deep trust from directors both in Japan and abroad. In addition to her acting career, she is also active in narration, reading, and writing, attracting devoted fans with her fresh and sensitive artistic touch. Her major works include the drama series "Kita no Kuni Kara", "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea", and the film "Till We Meet Again on the Lily Hill".

Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, appointed CEO of the Doha Film Institute in 2014, is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the Institute, maintaining its focus on promoting film culture in Qatar and establishing its presence on the regional and international stage.
Alremaihi also serves as Director of the Institute’s annual film events, Qumra and the Ajyal Film Festival, guiding the artistic, strategic, and operational aspects of both events, designed to nurture the next generation of creative professionals and strengthen Qatar’s position within the international film community.
