Reports
【Reflection】
People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria participated in the “Theme Week on Peace, Human Security and Dignity Week” by showcasing its Civil Protection efforts, highlighting the nation’s experience in international cooperation and humanitarian assistance. In particular, a formal presentation focused on Algeria’s support following the earthquake in Turkey under the theme “Commitment and Operational Efficiency,” demonstrating the rapid response and expertise of Algerian teams. Algeria’s distinction as the first country to provide aid to Turkey attracted considerable attention and was met with high praise and gratitude from numerous attendees.
The presentation, which included audiovisual materials, provided an accessible way for a broad audience, including Japanese visitors, to understand the country’s capabilities in disaster response and humanitarian aid. Many students and families expressed that they were deeply moved by the spirit of international solidarity on display. The event welcomed a diverse, multinational audience, allowing participants to share in the importance of disaster management and humanitarian support. Through this engagement, the State of Algeria was able to convey the trust and friendship it has cultivated internationally. Overall, the programme served as a valuable opportunity to promote the significance of cross-border cooperation and to enhance public understanding of Algeria’s humanitarian contributions.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Building on this presentation, the State of Algeria will continue to actively share its experiences and knowledge with the international community, strengthening collaboration in disaster prevention and mitigation. In particular, the strong interest expressed by Japanese visitors provides an opportunity to explore knowledge-sharing and personnel exchanges between the two countries, opening up new avenues for cooperation.
Natural disasters do not respect national borders, and effective responses require international collaboration. The State of Algeria aims to share the expertise and rapid response capabilities it has developed with other countries, establishing practical cooperation frameworks through joint training and information exchange. The connections made during Expo 2025 Osaka will be developed into future collaborative initiatives, ensuring that efforts to protect lives and uphold human dignity are sustained and expanded.
