Bulgarian SMEs specializing in textiles, ready-made clothing, fabrics, yarns, leather goods, and fashion accessories are looking forward to building meaningful connections in Japan, exploring new markets and connect with wholesale partners who can distribute their products.
We believe that through mutual understanding and shared values, we can not only grow together economically but also strengthen the friendship and cooperation between our countries.

【Reflection】
This programme provided a valuable opportunity for audiences and buyers to experience the depth of Bulgarian creativity and aesthetic sensibility through a showcase and networking sessions led by leading creators from the country’s apparel and fashion industries.
Eighteen companies and brands representing key sectors such as textiles, ready-to-wear garments and accessories—including YASHA, RICHMART, Maison Estrella and GARDEROB—participated in the event. Each shared insights into their design philosophies, material choices, and the stories embedded in their products. The showcase featured collections that blended tradition with modernity, as well as pieces inspired by Japanese culture, which attracted considerable interest from attendees.
Bulgaria has a historically rich textile heritage and a deep-rooted respect for craftsmanship. These traditions continue to influence the modern fashion scene, where individuality and narrative-driven design are highly valued. We believe that the programme successfully conveyed these distinctive Bulgarian values to a wide audience.
In addition, the event facilitated lively discussions and meaningful exchanges between the presenters and Japanese fashion professionals and visitors. This cross-cultural engagement contributed significantly to the programme’s impact, highlighting the potential for shared values across national boundaries.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
This programme was an important first step in fostering sustained exchange between Bulgarian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the Japanese market. Many of the exhibitors who took part expressed a strong interest in expanding their business opportunities and exploring future collaborations. There was notable resonance on the Japanese side with the 'human touch' of Bulgarian craftsmanship and the narrative-rich nature of the products on display.
Bulgaria’s fashion industry is internationally renowned for its strength and diversity—spanning textiles, accessories and beyond—and for its commitment to quality and originality. Looking ahead, alongside developing sales channels within Japan, initiatives such as partnerships with fashion colleges and collaborative projects linked to regional industries are being considered. These initiatives aim to combine cultural exchange and talent development. Digital tools such as online exhibitions and live-streamed events are also being explored for their potential to create new opportunities for engagement beyond geographical boundaries.
Continued international encounters and dialogue of this kind are expected to further deepen mutual trust between the two countries and lead to the development of more practical and sustainable forms of collaboration.
