Based on the concept of “Connecting”, 14 or more divisions of us will participate in the exhibitions to give attendance the opportunity to discover interesting aspects of Japanese food, agriculture, forestry and fishery industries. The exhibitions are in three parts ;
(1)“Connecting Traditions” area, that we introduce the landscapes, local practices, and foods formed by Japanese traditional agriculture, forestry and fishery industries, which have been inherited from generation to generation.
(2)“Connecting Diversity” area, that we review the diversity of food products that take root in Japan, and recognize Japanese food by them.
(3)“Connecting to the Future” area, that we introduce the advantage, problems of the agriculture, forestry and fishery industries that support Japanese food, and initiatives for the future.
Reports
【Reflection】
This program promoted the appeal of Japan's food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries based on the concept that "the development of agriculture, forestry and fisheries and food culture will enrich the world." The number of visitors was more than 1.5 times the expected figure (approximately 7,000 people per day, approximately 60,000 people in total for the event period) (12,000 people per day, approximately 100,000 people in total for the event period), which was about 10% of the total visitors to the venue, and we believe that we were able to spread the word about this event to many people. In addition, a questionnaire that was answered by about 10% of the visitors showed many positive opinions, and we believe that the event was highly evaluated.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
Through this program, we hope to convey to visitors the appeal of Japan's food, agriculture, forestry and fisheries industries, attract them to various parts of the country, and encourage them to stay and experience the food and food culture in each region, thereby creating a virtuous cycle that leads to regional development and inbound tourism to exports.
