【Reflection】
The event “SPORTS FOR LIFE – PLAYING AND LEARNING TOGETHER” was held at the Commons-C area as part of Expo 2025 Osaka’s Theme Weeks. Eleven countries—Croatia, Gabon, San Marino, Guatemala, Ukraine, Uruguay, Slovenia, Slovakia, Israel, Panama, and Montenegro—participated, offering visitors the chance to explore how sport contributes to education, connection, and well-being.

The programme consisted of two parts. In the morning session, exhibits showcased items representing each country’s sporting culture, such as autographed jerseys from renowned athletes and medals from international competitions. Through these displays, visitors gained insights into each country’s sports initiatives and strengths, deepening their appreciation of the diverse ways sport is woven into cultural life.

In the afternoon, a quiz-based stamp rally engaged participants with questions related to the eleven countries. Visitors received a stamp for each correct answer, and those who successfully completed all eleven were awarded a commemorative prize. People of all ages took part, enjoying the interactive format and experiencing a sense of unity across generations and nations. This fun and educational activity proved to be an excellent vehicle for promoting international exchange.

The event embodied the theme of “learning, connecting, and growing through play,” effectively demonstrating the spirit of international collaboration. It also underscored the role of sport in advancing health, resilience, social inclusion, and peacebuilding, aligning closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Expo 2025 Osaka’s overarching vision of “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” The initiative was highly valued as a meaningful contribution to these objectives.

【Post EXPO Initiatives】
This programme is expected to serve as a foundation for the development of future international collaborative activities, building on the connections and exchanges made during the event. Networks established with the 11 participating countries will be utilised to foster ongoing collaboration with educational institutions and sports organisations, and efforts are underway to plan workshops and joint events. This approach will help establish a platform for international cooperation, with the potential to extend exchanges to more countries and regions in the future.

In addition, initiatives promoting intercultural understanding and peace education through sport will continue to be implemented. These activities contribute to the SDGs and offer learning and engagement opportunities for people of all ages. Insights and practical examples gained from the event can also be applied in schools and local communities, supporting health promotion and social inclusion.

Such initiatives will help to sustainably extend the theme of "learning, connecting, and growing through play," forming a foundation for creating a better future society.
