EXPO2025 Theme Weeks

Programme details

The ILO Youth Congress is taking place as part of the EXPO 2025 Days on Safety, Health & Well-being for All held under the inaugural Global Initiative for Safety, Health and Well-being (GISHW).
This landmark event focuses on empowering young people to actively participate in the design of safe, healthy and inclusive workplaces in the digital age.
The event on the 17 July is the culmination of a process which has seen young people from around the world take part in a series of participatory actions that have seen them learn, create and discuss how young people can help contribute and be engaged in the promotion of safety, health and well-being at work.
In all, 28 teams from universities and senior high schools all over Japan as well as a further 22 teams from 7 countries around the world have taken part in the process. They have joined a variety of information and discussion sessions and have subsequently proposed ‘Calls to Action’ to create a safe and healthy working environment for all. A process of judging and evaluation will see eight of the teams present their Calls to Action at the ILO Youth Congress event on the 17 July and the winers selected towards the implementation of the proposal in the enterprises.
