Ecology of the seas as an important aspect of education for future generations

The Polish MARE Foundation will talk about periodically organized "Clean Baltic" campaigns, consisting in catching marine waste from the Baltic Sea - especially lost fishing equipment (i.e. the so-called ghost net), as well as about the possibilities of reusing the caught waste.
The conference will be accompanied by a campaign to clean the waterfront of Okinoshima Island, to which the Poland Pavilion will invite other participants' pavilion teams.

Programme details
The conference is co-organized by Polish local government institutions and the scientific and business community in Poland and Japan. As part of the event, scientific research for marine ecology will be presented by Gdynia Maritime University and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. Solutions in the field of seabed research will be presented by partners from Poland and Japan, including the Polish company ENAMOR.
As part of the program, the Polish MARE Foundation will talk about periodically organized "Clean Baltic" campaigns, consisting in catching marine waste from the Baltic Sea - especially lost fishing equipment (i.e. the so-called ghost net), as well as about the possibilities of reusing the caught waste.
The conference will be accompanied by a campaign to clean the waterfront of Okinoshima Island, to which the Poland Pavilion will invite other participants' pavilion teams. The culmination of the conference will be an evening concert by the Gdynia Maritime University Choir, which will perform a maritime repertoire on one of the Expo stages.
