【Reflection】
From 15 to 23 July, the “Ohisama Project” hosted a total of 18 workshops at the Netherlands Pavilion. Each session was fully booked, and the venue was filled with smiles and energy as the participants enjoyed a time rich in learning and discovery.

The programme was built around the concept of “Common Ground,” encouraging students from different backgrounds to share the same space and experiences while enjoying the Dutch-style approach of learning through play. The workshops were conducted in both Japanese and English, creating an environment where language differences did not hinder natural interaction.

Participants came not only from across Japan but also from overseas. Children of diverse nationalities and cultures played, learned, and laughed together, exemplifying an ideal form of international exchange. The workshops were full of experiences that connected hearts across cultural and linguistic boundaries, with many participants expressing, “We can’t wait for the next workshop!”

This programme allowed participants to experience the joy of learning and gain a deeper understanding of other cultures, leaving a lasting impression. It also sets the stage for future activities, with high expectations for continued growth and engagement.

【Post EXPO Initiatives】
The feedback and insights gathered from the workshop participants have been carefully reviewed and will be used to inform future educational materials and programme planning. In particular, the highly popular quiz-based cultural activities and hands-on exercises will be refined and adapted for use in school and community learning events. These efforts make it possible to share the experiences gained during the workshops more widely.

Considerable effort is also being made to share information online. By regularly posting website content , the reach of the programme is gradually expanding. This approach allows not only participants in Japan and the Netherlands but also a wider international audience to engage with topics related to culture and education, providing opportunities to spark interest and curiosity.

In this way, the activities of the “Ohisama Project” go beyond on-site classes and workshops in Japan, developing into ongoing initiatives that support personal growth and broaden participants’ perspectives. The values nurtured during the programme—especially respect for differences and the joy of learning together—continue to be shared widely, helping to build a more inclusive society for the future.
