Programme details
The morning session begins with opening remarks by actress Sakura Misono, followed by a panel discussion (first half) on the evolution of solar power featuring experts from the University of Tokyo, HESTA Okura, and Shirokuma Electric. This is followed by a panel discussion (second half) with corporate leaders and consumers. The afternoon session features a panel discussion on the potential of regenerative medicine with Olympic gold medalists and medical university professors. The closing session will see young people and social entrepreneurs from around the world debate climate change and the future. Each session is coordinated by Nikkei Inc. editorial board members, offering a broad perspective on sustainable societies and humanity's future.

Actress
Born in Tokyo. In her third year of junior high school, she took the Mathematics Proficiency Test Level 2 and ranked first nationally among 22,222 test-takers of all ages, receiving the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award.
In 2013, she joined the Takarazuka Revue as a top-ranked member. She became the top star of the Moon Troupe in 2018, appearing in numerous productions including “I AM FROM AUSTRIA - My Hometown is a Sweet Melody -,” “Red and Black,” “WELCOME TO TAKARAZUKA - Snow, Moon, and Flowers / Pigalle Frenzy,” and “Sakura Arashi Ki / Dream Chaser.” After retiring in 2021, she enrolled in Keio University Graduate School, graduating in 2024.
Recently, she appeared in “DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY” (2024, as Grazia). She currently continues her research as a researcher, focusing on “Communication within Groups.

Graduated from Kyoto University, specializing in international law and environmental law. Served as professor at Ryukoku University, Nagoya University, and the University of Tokyo.
Primary research themes include climate change and energy law and policy.
Also serves as a committee member for various councils, including the Central Environment Council and the Renewable Energy Committee.

Representative Director of Shirokuma Electric Power. Born in Osaka Prefecture. After working at an accounting firm, he launched several companies and founded afterFIT (now Shirokuma Electric Power) in 2016. The company is involved in power generation, power storage, and retail sales, and is also a product manufacturer. It is also a company that provides AI-based power plant site analysis “GreenMAP,” IT system development, power plant construction, real estate development, OM, and AM. It is a vertically integrated power company that handles everything necessary to deliver green power. Its achievements include developing and operating Japan's largest power storage facility (including planned capacity) exceeding 5GWh, realizing low-cost renewable energy + storage batteries. It is building a new power supply model and challenging the spread of green power that is cheaper than thermal power generation.

Yuichiro Jitsukawa

Born in Fukagawa, Tokyo in 1972.
Joined Maruhan in 1995 as part of the third cohort of university graduates. Assigned to Maruhan Pachinko Tower Shibuya upon its opening on July 7th of the same year. Subsequently served as store manager there, then as head of the Sales Strategy Department. Appointed Executive Officer and Head of Sales Division in 2015, Senior Executive Officer and Head of Sales Division for the Northern Japan Company in 2021, and assumed current position in 2024. Currently also serves concurrently as Head of Pachinko Business Division and Head of Human Resources Division.
From his position as Vice President, he oversees the entire pachinko business while also driving forward tourism ventures with new concepts. His hobby is swimming, which he has continued since his student days.

Masatoshi Kasahara

Born September 29, 1975, age 50. Native of Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. After graduating from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics, Hosei University, he studied abroad in Iowa, USA for two and a half years before joining Yachiyo Poultry Co., Ltd., managed by his father, Setsuo Kasahara, and its group company, Yokohama Farm. Serving as an assistant to the president, he was involved in all aspects of egg production and sales. He assumed the position of Representative Director in 2012 and continues in that role today. Beyond the traditional management resources of people, materials, and money, he incorporates information, energy, and the environment as significant management resources. Particularly regarding energy, he has actively introduced solar power generation since 2012. Alongside energy self-sufficiency, he aims to realize environmentally friendly egg production and sales ahead of the arrival of a decarbonized society.

Kosuke Kitajima
Olympic Gold Medalist HESTA Vice President Okura
Born in Tokyo in 1982. Competing as a high school senior, he placed fourth in the 100m breaststroke at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. At the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Games, he won gold medals in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke events, achieving the remarkable feat of becoming the first Japanese athlete to win gold in two breaststroke events at two consecutive Olympics. In 2005, he became the first professional swimmer in Japanese competitive swimming history, retiring in 2016. In 2020, he assumed the role of President of the Tokyo Swimming Association, focusing on coaching the next generation while also serving as President and CEO of IMPRINT.

Born in 1993. Social entrepreneur. To encourage youth political participation, launched the Shoukasonjuku program in 2016 following the lowering of the voting age to 18. To increase the number of children who change society, delivers fun citizenship education outreach classes by comedians to schools nationwide. To create spaces for social change, runs the High School Reverse Mentor Project, reflecting high school students' ideas in politics. His social issue-focused citizen media channel “Takamatsu Nana's SocialAction!” has over 200,000 YouTube subscribers. He has appeared on programs like Asamade Nama TV and ABEMA PRIME.

Jitsai Santaputra
Co-founder of Youth for Energy Southeast Asia
Jitsai Santaputra is a youth energy and climate advocate and co-founder of Youth for Energy Southeast Asia (Y4E-SEA) and Thailand Youth Climate Council (TYCC). She champions just and equitable transition and the inclusion of women and youth in climate action by working closely with NGOs, governments, private sector, and civil society groups in Southeast Asia. Jitsai was appointed by Thailand's Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as the Lead Youth Delegate for Thailand to COP28 Dubai, and COP29 Baku. In recognition of her advocacy and leadership, she received the prestigious REvolutionaries Steve Sawyer Memorial Award from GWEC, Greenpeace, and REN21 for her role in driving climate action and promoting clean energy.

Salma Aziza Sutando

Salma is a sustainability and environmental advocate and a Project Manager at Green Welfare Foundation Indonesia, a youth-led non-profit dedicated to environmental education, climate action, and capacity building. Born and raised in Jakarta, her experiences in a urban environment inspired her concern for the environment and motivated her to pursue environmental studies. Since 2021, with Green Welfare Indonesia, she has led and managed programs that empower youth to take climate action, with a focus on education, community engagement, and hands-on initiatives that strengthen Indonesia’s youth environmental resilience. Through her work, she has collaborated with UN Women, Osaka Expo 2025, Greenpeace Indonesia, TEDx, and more.
Beyond her non-profit work, Salma has gained professional experience in talent development at TeamFirst and in business development at Asuene, broadening her cross-sectoral perspective. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environment & Development from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University in Japan, where she received a full-tuition reduction scholarship, and also studied at Halmstad University in Sweden.
