This combined programme unites two key sessions into a powerful dialogue on transforming social sectors and fostering resilient, empowered, and cohesive communities.
The morning roundtable, “Designing Empowerment Frameworks for Communities of the Future,” will feature insights from the UAE on its social sector transformation and the Year of Community 2025, followed by global perspectives on building resilience and self-reliance.
In the afternoon, the “UAE–Japan Dialogue: Building Thriving Communities Through Shared Values” will highlight how shared values in both countries foster social cohesion and citizen engagement. Together, the sessions will provide an inspiring platform for international leaders to share best practices in advancing inclusive, people-centered development.

Programme details
This one-day programme offers two complementary sessions designed to spark dialogue and exchange between the UAE, Japan, and global partners.
The morning roundtable, “Designing Empowerment Frameworks for Communities of the Future” (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM), will bring together international experts, policymakers, civil society leaders, and private sector representatives. It will open with perspectives from the UAE on its social sector transformation, with a focus on empowerment and the landmark Year of Community 2025. Participants will then explore how diverse strategies worldwide are equipping individuals with tools, skills, and opportunities to foster self-reliance, resilience, and community cohesion.
In the afternoon, the “UAE–Japan Dialogue: Building Thriving Communities Through Shared Values” (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM) will showcase how shared values in both nations contribute to stronger, more cohesive communities. The dialogue will spotlight initiatives from both the UAE and Japan, highlighting approaches that contribute to building and advancing social responsibility and enhancing citizen engagement. Other countries represented in the session will then have an opportunity to showcase their own initiatives for creating thriving communities.
