【Reflection】
In this program, in response to the fact that Anime, Manga, etc. gaining worldwide popularity plays a major role as a “gateway” to Japan for stimulating foreign interest in the country, 26 organizations held exhibitions to promote the attractiveness of places associated with anime, manga, and other content. On the opening day of the event, State Minister of Cabinet Office, Kiyoto Tsuji󠄀, and other exhibitors took the stage at the opening ceremony, etc. On the final day of the event, Minister of State for “Cool Japan“ Strategy, Minoru Kiuchi and Cool Japan PR Ambassador, Enako, talked about the appeal of visiting places associated with Anime, Manga, etc., as well as the appeal of the contents of these areas to people in Japan and abroad. He also spoke of his wish to promote a virtuous cycle of content industry promotion and regional development by disseminating content along with various regional attractions both domestically and internationally. The event was attended by many visitors, including foreign visitors to Japan, and was covered by the media. Some of the foreign visitors said that they learned about the region through the anime and wanted to visit the area. We would like to utilize the reactions of visitors from Japan and abroad, as well as the feedback from exhibitors and content-related people who cooperated in the event, in our future consideration of the Cool Japan strategy.
【Post EXPO Initiatives】
During the event, a questionnaire survey was conducted among foreign visitors on their willingness to visit places with Anime, Manga, etc., and other content, and to experience regional attractions. A report session is scheduled to be held to publicize and disseminate the results of these efforts and to contribute to the promotion of cooperation between the fields of Anime, Manga, etc., and other content and regional attractions.
